Marketplace Disclosure Requirements

The Digital Services Act, an EU regulation, mandates marketplaces to disclose specific information about sellers and products. To comply, we’re updating 3DExport’s marketplace settings.

Here are the changes we’re implementing:

  • Verifying and displaying required details for certain sellers distributing products or content on 3DExport’s marketplace.
  • Requiring sellers to certify compliance with European Union laws when listing products or services on the platform.
  • Indicating when sellers disclose promotional content in their products.

Below, you’ll find FAQs to guide you through these updates and outline any actions needed.

If I’m an existing seller, what do I need to do?

By February 1, 2025, you must identify yourself as either a Seller or a Non-Seller and provide the necessary details if you distribute content or products on 3DExport’s marketplace. This allows us to determine and disclose any legally required information.

What is a Seller?

A Seller is an individual or entity using a marketplace for trade, business, craft, or professional purposes. You may qualify as a Seller if you:

  • Frequently sell content for profit, even across multiple platforms.
  • Operate through a registered business, act as a sole proprietor, or have a VAT number.
  • Consistently sell a high volume of content over time.

More details on the EU’s guidelines for Sellers are available here.

What information do I need to provide?

If you identify as a Seller, you must submit legally required details, such as your email address, physical address, and phone number. Once verified, you can create an account. If your business and personal contact details are the same, you’ll have the option to publicly display only your city and country. Failure to provide required information may lead to legal consequences.

As a Non-Seller, you will undergo basic verification and provide contact information for tax and payment purposes. This information won’t be publicly displayed. Your profile will include a disclaimer: *“This seller is registered as a Non-Seller, so EU consumer protection laws do not apply.”*

What if I don’t want to provide the required information?

New sellers won’t be able to create accounts on our marketplace without submitting and verifying the necessary information. Existing sellers must comply by February 1, 2025. Failure to do so may affect your ability to continue selling on the platform.

What is promotional content?

When uploading content, you must identify any assets containing promotional material. This includes product placements, logos, slogans, or other branding that promotes your own or another entity’s real-world brand.

Thank you.
